Washington Defensive Driving Online Course
Overview
Referred by Court
Take our program if the court has referred you to take a Level 1 defensive driving program.
Am I Eligible?
You typically take a defensive driving (also called traffic school) course after you have been issued a citation. Your court may order you to take a defensive driving course based on your citation and driving history, or your court may refer you to take a defensive driving course as a requirement to defer your ticket.
Each court specifies its eligibility requirements for defensive driving; therefore you must check with your court. In general, you are eligible for defensive driving if:
- You have a valid driver license.
- You were ticketed for a moving violation (e.g., speeding, red light).
- The court has directed you to take a course.
